*****

Ecco is exactly like its cousin, Lifestyle, except that it is a DK weight yarn. As with Lifestlye, it is so creamy soft you can happily wear it next to your skin; strong enough to become your favorite socks; and, it's even machine washable.

And, just like Lifestyle, it's unique spin renders it much more versatile than a conventionally spun yarn would be. Think of a tight spring. Ecco's four plys are spun into a four-layered spring that is at once the tight spin that short-staple merino most loves and at the same time gives the yarn a springy flexibility. This means that if you knit it on US4 (3.5mm) needles, your fabric will be soft yet firm, just right for socks and wind-breaking sweaters; go up to a US7 (4.5mm) and you'll find that the springiness of the yarn fills in the extra space and gives you a lighter garment fabric with great drape, softness and warmth.

Ecco Aquarelle shares all these qualities plus introduces a fabulous way to apply color to yarn - just lightly wash the outer surface! This leaves the inner yarn untouched by color and the color itself remains rather translucent. What this means for us as knitters is that the color is much more subtle and graceful, just like a lovely watercolor painting. The fabric you create will reveal slightly shifting pools of delicate color - all wrapped around Ecco. It's hard to imagine a better combination.

Try it. Experiment. Ecco and Ecco Aquarelle will always please.
